Jewel of the Rain

Posted by Jake on 11 July, 2009

Today I had the pleasure of seeing in my yard for the first time the jewel of the rain, a pink Rain Lily. I really like this bloom and can’t wait for the foliage to grow more and of a lot more blooms. The one that is blooming is from just one very small bulb. I had ten of the and planted them in pairs of two around my fron and backyard. Anotherne is about ready to bloom and they are all starting to put out foliage that is away from the main bulb, yay!

Pink Rain Lily

I hope to get other colours in the future and would lie to know your experiences with these. I hope you have a great weekend and if you go by a nursery or store don’t hesitate to buy anything, lol.

Thanks For Reading,

Jake

    Jake,
I love my rain lilies. I’m putting some in my new front planting, too. Yours is very pretty. It looks pinker than the kind I have… mine are very pale.

My neighbor got me started with a few bulbs and now they have multiplied so I have a fairly decent patch of them in a couple of places. They look best when placed closely together for impact. Yours will multiply too. Good luck with them.

I took your advice (if you go by a nursery or store don’t hesitate to buy anything, lol.)and bought more plants today. LOL
